In Colombia, a “Mochila” is a traditional shoulder bag and has been a part of everyday dress for centuries. Widely seen throughout the country is the Mochila Wayuu, made by the People of that name from La Guayira. Their Mochilas are woven, knitted and crocheted and take between 10 and 25 days to make. The vivid colours used reflect the natural brightness of the region and they often incorporate geometric patterns and symbols (kanaas) central to Wayuu culture. An intricate mochila is unique and represents the beliefs and feelings of the woman who made it.

Usually worn cross-body thanks to the generous and gorgeous straps, or slung from one shoulder.

Available in Large and Medium sizes, capable of carrying a surprising amount.

Handmade quality that is strong and long-lasting.
